Your home’s sewer system works hard every day, but what happens when the decades take their toll? When older pipes reach their breaking point, they can cause leaks, clogs, and sewage backups. Fortunately, modern plumbing techniques, like camera inspections and trenchless repairs, make it easier than ever to take care of these problems. Mr. Rooter Plumbing offers dependable services like sewer line cleaning and trenchless sewer line replacement in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, that can get your plumbing system back to functioning as it should in no time. Keep reading to learn how aging infrastructure impacts sewer systems and why professional services are needed to keep your plumbing in great shape.
Many homes have plumbing systems that have been in place for decades. While older materials like clay, cast iron, and galvanized steel were built to last, they weren’t designed to stand the test of time forever. Over the years, these materials naturally corrode, crack, or collapse under the weight of shifting soil, tree roots, and regular wear and tear. Older pipes are especially prone to developing leaks or clogs. Small cracks can allow debris or tree roots to enter the system, which leads to blockages that worsen over time. In some cases, sections of the pipe can completely collapse and cause sewage to back up into your home or yard. If your home has an aging sewer system, routine sewer cleaning is required to keep everything flowing. But sometimes, cleaning isn’t enough. Extensive damage may require more advanced solutions, such as sewer line installation or trenchless sewer line replacement. If you’re unsure about the state of your sewer lines, it’s better to address potential problems sooner rather than later.
If you’ve ever faced sewer problems in the past, you might remember the frustration of trying to identify the source of the issue. Traditional methods usually involved digging trenches and excavating large sections of your yard just to locate a clog or break in the pipe. Thankfully, modern technology has changed the game with sewer camera inspections. A small, high-tech camera is inserted into your sewer line to capture a clear video feed of the interior. This allows plumbers to quickly identify blockages, leaks, or structural damage without the need for unnecessary digging. These inspections provide several benefits:
Whether you need a basic sewer line cleaning or a more extensive repair, this technology ensures you’re making informed decisions about your home.
It’s easy to grab a bottle of drain cleaner when your drains start to slow down. However, most store-bought drain cleaners contain harsh chemicals that can actually damage your pipes over time. Here are some common sewer problems and whether DIY or professional help is the best solution:
Sewer problems rarely resolve themselves, and delaying repairs can lead to a cascade of complications. Even a small leak or clog can cause severe damage if ignored. Some of the hidden dangers of putting off sewer line repairs include:

Brandon is a true professional in every way from first contact regarding the job right up to the end. Yes, I paid more for Mr. Rooters' service but keeping my tenants happy with the least amount of disruption is always my priority so the extra expense was worth a lot less headaches. I will definitely use their service in the future and will always ask for Brandon to be my choice of techs.
My first point of contact after I set up my appointment was Nicki (Nikki), she was VERY kind and professional on the phone. She provided reassurance in my time of plumbing panic letting me know that everything was going to be fine and she’s here to help! Then Angelo arrived. Prior to his arrival I received texts and live gps to review how far he was I LOVED that! Angelo was SO respect of my house, he was VERY professional, quick and kind. He was upfront about costs and what he would complete for me! Pricing was fair and affordable. I had this SAME problem previously, went to a different company (started with a G and rhymes with peace) and they were “cheaper” but didn’t do the best job. They tried to tell me that to fix it, the price would be 5K - 10K (hard eye roll). Nevertheless, this is an awesome company!! If you found Mr. Rooter, just got with them!! I promise you, you won’t regret it!
